The Hawgwild Bassmasters kicked of their season on a frigid Saturday morning on the Potomac river. 27 participants took to the water with the early morning temperature in the low 30's. With a delay in opening of Smallwood state park, many fisher men missed the early bite as the tide would be rolling out as Hawgwild took to the water. Travis Crowder (1st place) took advantage of the late start and brought back 5 fish weighing an astounding 18.44lbs.He was anchored by his co-angler (Potential member) Mike Chittams with 5 bass weighing 18.18.16lbs, But since Mike is not a member here is how the rest of the members fininshed:2nd Craig Womack , 3rd Bill E, 4th LaMont Vernon, 5th Sam Smith, 6th Eddie Womack(Not shown), 7th BiGG L, 8th Edward Parker, 9th Ken Melton, 10th Robert Reid, 11th Dave Albritton, 12th Wayne Ball....... (Potential member) John Bonn also showed his skills with 5 fish weighing a nice 11.60lbs.
The hawg Wild Bassmasters held their second TX of the year on a beautiful Saturday morning at Lake Anna. Potential member John Bonn wins his first TX of the year with a 5 fish limit weighing 12.27lbs. John also weighed in the big bass of the day coming in at 6.12lbs. Our current MR.BASS Craig Womack took 2nd with 4.86lbs, 3rd Rick Barnette4.64lbs ,4th Tony Garey 4.55lbs, 5th LaMont Vernon 3.77lbs , 6th Elgin Fontaine 2.37, 7th Howard Williams 1.95lbs , 8th Billy Easter 1.19lbs , 9th Bill Green .90lbs.
The Hawg Wild Bassmasters held it's 3rd TX of the season on Kerr reservoir for a second year in a row. 22 members came down to Clarksville to fished the 2-day TX. LaMont Vernon(1st-15.72lbs) had to fight off a late push from John Bonn(2nd-15.60lbs) to capture his first win of the season.Sam Smith(3rd-14.26) who led on the first day and was trying to get his first win as a member of Hawg wild couldn't maintain his lead on day two. Tournament director Robert Reid (9th- 4.26lbs) had the big fish for the Tx.

The Hawgwild Bassmasters held their 6th TX of the season heading north to tackle the tough Upper Bay out of Dundee marina.12 anglers took on this tough task and even though no limits were caught, 5 guys were able to catch a few fish. The Hawgwild bassmasters Held their 7th and final TX of the season on the Potomac River. This year was an extremely competitive year on the water and everyone gave their best effort thru 7 TX's. 14 anglers dealt with the wind and rain but only one person could come out victorious. Congratulation goes out to John Bonn for winning the final event with 5 fish weighing ( 11.37lbs and Lunker 3.07lbs) and also capturing the "2009 Mr. Bass".
